DETAILS
Client name: CGG VERITAS
Project name: Seismovie
Duration: 80 man-days
Project Description
CGG VERITAS is studying how to deploy streamer of seismic sensors through a horizontal drilling instead of vertical drilling where sensors are installed one by one. The idea is to replace several vertical drilling wells at this depth by a horizontal hole in which sensors will be installed. The project is called Seismovie.
CGG VERITAS asks DOLFINES to make a conceptual study. The aim is to see how to drill a horizontal well at a depth ranging from 10 to 100meters on a distance of 0.5 to 2 kilometres, and to compare the price and planning of such operation to vertical drilling.
Activities / Tasks and Solutions developed by Dolfines
Phase 1: The engineering
It defines the specifications and operational phases of all works: rig and mud operation study, casing study, operational phases, streamer preparation and integration (including calculation notes of streamer, elements composition, drilling site layout (including civil engineering, footprint of equipment, drilling lines and path, etc …).
Phase 2: The procurement process
The price study allows to estimate cost of materials and equipment necessary to run the project.
Phase 3: Operations
It consists of drilling the wellbore, to install the casing, and to install the streamer. These operations are split in five phases: rig move and logistics, installation of the equipment, pilot bore hole drilling, back reaming and tubing installation, installation of the streamer in the well bore tubing.
Dolfines has participated to these operations performed by a local contractor.
Project Results
CGG Veritas has deployed streamer in the Netherlands through this process as a pilot project.
