DETAILS
Client name: SUBSEA7
Project name: Energy Harvesting Unit
Duration: 180 man-days
Project Description
SUBSEA 7 has requested Dolfines to perform a preliminary design and associated cost estimates for floating energy harvesting units. Such units main drivers are to include at least a main source of renewable energy as well as to be as competitive economically as possible. Also, the technologies shall be mature, especially in terms of renewables production or energy storage.
Activities / Tasks and Solutions developed by Dolfines
Three reports have been provided to client related to three floating technologies.
- The first report outlines the design characteristics of a tripod semi-submersible tailored for North Sea conditions and off-grid continuous high power of 4.5MW.
- This second report outlines the design characteristics of a SPAR shape. This unit has been outlined to bear the harsh for North Sea conditions and off-grid continuous high power of 305kW with an on-spot requirement of 400kW.
- This third report presents a circular buoy shape. This unit has been designed to feed with electrical current two subsea Oil and Gas consumers for an average power of 5.1kW. It accommodates three wind turbines (3 to 6kW) and 22m² of solar panels and reaches 85% of new energy.
