DETAILS
Client name: TOTAL E&P Uganda
Project name: Tilenga Project
Duration: 70 man-days
Project Description
A consortium of companies, among which TOTAL E&P Uganda and CNOOC, is developing a new onshore field close to the Lake Albert in Uganda.
This project considered the development of several fields and hence induces the construction of large quantity of drilling sites. TOTAL E&P Uganda asked DOLFINES to perform several optimization studies for these drilling pads.
Activities / Tasks and Solutions developed by Dolfines
The studies aim at defining the minimum civil work requirement for the cellar, considering the equipment installed on the wellhead, and the reinforced area supporting the walking rig shoes. The studies covered:
- Christmas tree arrangements
- Piping and electrical / instrumentation connections inside the cellar
- Cellar design and accesses for operations, drilling and maintenance.
- Drilling pad pattern and impact on the site layouts considering the use of a walking rig
- Drainage system sizing considering the equatorial rains
Project Results
The studies and their results have been satisfactory presented to the client and corresponding documents issued. The findings have been exploited for the next steps of the project, particularly rig definition and specifications for the construction of these drilling sites.
