We are growing our team of technical experts and are currently recruiting Marine Surveyor.
About the role
As a Marine Surveyor, you will inspect, audit and survey the marine systems of jack-up drilling units — hull, structure, stability, jacking system and associated marine electrical/mechanical installations — verifying compliance with class society rules, flag state requirements and client integrity management standards.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct intake, major maintenance and annual renewal surveys of jack-up units, covering hull and superstructure condition, watertight integrity and stability, jacking system, mooring equipment, and piping/bilge systems.
- Witness jacking trials and jacking system verification tests, assessing satisfactory operation of the jacking system and its components in line with client procedures.
- Survey marine electrical installations (switchboards, power distribution, emergency power) for compliance with class rules and IEC/IMO requirements.
- Verify certification, statutory documentation, flag state compliance and class society records are current and in order.
- Audit Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) and HSECES verification for marine systems against the applicable Safety Case.
- Apply structured audit/checklist methodology (e.g. intake, major maintenance and renewal checklists), documenting findings, non-conformities and criticality ratings in client-ready reports.
- Liaise directly with client marine/asset integrity departments and escalate critical findings in line with contractual reporting timeframes.
Profile & requirements
- Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or equivalent marine technical qualification.
- Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in marine surveying and with direct experience on jack-up units or other MODUs.
- Working knowledge of the MODU Code, SOLAS, relevant IMO conventions, and class society rules for self-elevating (jack-up) units.
- Experience conducting or supporting jacking system trials and verification is a strong plus.
- Prior exposure to client-specific integrity management standards preferred; willingness to be trained/approved against client-specific frameworks required.
- Computer literate; fluent in written and spoken English.
- Able to work on-site for extended rotations aligned with survey/audit campaigns.
