We are growing our team of technical experts and are currently recruiting Rig Mechanical Maintenance Surveyors.
About the role
As a Rig Mechanical Maintenance Surveyor, you will inspect, audit and survey mechanical equipment and systems on drilling and workover rigs worldwide, ensuring assets and maintenance practices meet applicable codes, standards and client requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct technical acceptance surveys, commissioning inspections and rig condition surveys on land rigs, jack-ups, drillships and semi-submersibles.
- Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Integration Tests (SIT), function and endurance tests on mechanical equipment.
- Perform maintenance audits of mechanical systems (pumps, compressors and associated equipment) and diagnose failures using appropriate technical documentation.
- Carry out DROPS surveys, contribute to accident investigations, and support LOLER inspections as required.
- Prepare and update non-conformity lists and daily progress reports for the client and Dolfines’ operations team.
- Deliver final inspection reports, punch lists and trackers in client-ready formats within contractual deadlines.
- Provide the Operations Manager with corrections and suggestions to continuously improve inspection methodology.
Profile & requirements
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in the mechanical maintenance discipline, including at least 10 years on drilling rigs.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Chief Mechanic or Maintenace Manager on a drilling rig.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an inspector/auditor/surveyor; prior experience with a rig inspection company preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant industry standards (API, MODU, IEC, etc.) and OEM requirements.
- Computer literate; fluent in written and spoken English.
- Able to work in remote location on-site for extended rotations (typically 12-hour days, 7 days/week for the duration of the assignment).
