We are growing our team of technical experts and are currently recruiting a Well Control Expert.
About the role
As a Well Control Expert, you will inspect, audit and survey well control equipment and systems — including BOPs, manifolds and valves — on drilling rigs worldwide, ensuring compliance with API/OGP standards and supporting our clients’ operational integrity and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct technical acceptance surveys, commissioning and rig condition surveys with a focus on well control equipment across land rigs, jack-ups, drillships and semi-submersibles.
- Supervise and witness periodic and functional tests on well control systems, including BOP integrity tests and hydraulic/electrical function tests.
- Identify and help resolve critical breakdowns on well control equipment, coordinating with specialist suppliers where required.
- Audit management systems and personnel competency relevant to well control operations, and apply HSE test procedures rigorously.
- Draft technical recommendations to improve system safety and drive continuous improvement of well control practices.
Profile & requirements
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in well control, including at least 10 years on drilling rigs.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Head of Department in well control on a drilling rig.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an inspector/auditor/surveyor; prior experience with a rig inspection company preferred.
- Strong command of API and OGP standards and hands-on experience with BOP integrity testing and blowout response.
- Computer literate; fluent in written and spoken English.
- Able to work in remote location and on-site for extended rotations (typically 12-hour days, 7 days/week for the duration of the assignment).
